Torchwood: Radio Plays - Audio Covers & Info

BBC Audio have released the covers and synopsis for the CD releases of the Torchwood radio plays:

ASYLUM - by Anita Sullivan
When PC Andy Davidson arrests a young girl for shoplifting, he thinks it's going to be a routine case. That is, until he sees that she is carrying a gun. The girl is soaking wet, covered in mud, and the weapon is like nothing he's ever seen before. He knows that this is a case for Torchwood...

The team discovers that the girl is called Freda, but can find out nothing else. Yet when she speaks, it's a strange mix of English and Icelandic, but with a Cardiff accent. While Jack and Ianto check out the girl's weapon and her blood sample at the Hub, Gwen and PC Andy take Freda to a safe house. But when Jack calls with the results - and Freda goes on the run - PC Andy finds his world turning upside down.

GOLDEN AGE - by James Goss
The Torchwood team head for Delhi on the trail of a dangerous energy field, in Golden Age, written by James Goss, the second part of this brand-new series of extraterrestrial investigations starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd.

As the energy field grows once more, the team witness the simultaneous disappearance of hundreds of people and Jack discovers that the field centres on an old colonial mansion - Torchwood India.

Shocked to find that Torchwood India is still going strong, since he shut it down himself more than 80 years ago, Jack is even more surprised to find that its members, including his old flame, the Duchess, haven’t aged a day.

THE DEAD LINE - by Phil Ford
When a Cardiff hospital is inundated with patients who have fallen into coma-like trances, Torchwood moves in to investigate in the third part of this brand new series of extra-terrestrial investigations starring John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd.

The trances appear to have been triggered by phone calls, all received on retro phones and made from a number that hasn’t been active for more than 30 years.

Determined to find out who’s been calling the unfortunate victims, Jack rings the mysterious number - two, zero, five, nine. It seems to be a dead line … until Jack is called back.

All three radio plays are on sale from 6th August at all good CD stores priced £9.99 each. They are also set to broadcast on BBC Radio 4 next month, more information on that can be found here
